Introduction
When you choose to be an Orc you will have to
choice between three classes. You can either choose
between Berserker, Hunter and Sorcerer.
- Berserker is the melee combat Orcish class.
They know all melee-weapons and higher armors.
- Sorcerer is the magic class between the Orcs.
They can call the power from the different elements
to assist them during the fight.
- Hunter is the bow specialist in the Orc race.
She is skilled with all bow and crossbows and
the ranged combat is his area of expertise.
As Orc you will be born in the unassailable city
of Golundo. When you first reach the city you
will see
several NPCs, some give you quests, others are
available to buy everything an adventurer needs
in
ArchLord. There are also different buildings and
portals that allow you to port to other places
around
the city for example.
There are different type of NPCs – The
class trainer/merchants, the crafting NPCs, the
normal
merchants and finally the Quest NPCs. We will
describe their function later with the following
overview.
The first levels you have to fight with the basic
attack, after you reached level 4 you can gain
your first
skill from the different trainers. The higher
your level grows the more skills are available
to you. Some
are attack skills others enhance your other abilities
like agility, wisdom, etc. Every class his own
specific abilities, you will be able to learn
them with your character progress (see the ?Class?
section at
your skill trainer).

controls, such as movement, you should head over
to Elder Brusoto for your first quest. Take note
of the yellow (!) above his head.
This symbol means the NPC has one or more quests
for you.

Then left click on the Quest
button to bring up the list of quests currently
available to you from this
NPC.

On the left side of the quest window you will
see a list of the quests that you can accept.
Currently
this NPC only has one quest for you. Select the
quest by left clicking on the name. Information
about
7/20 v1.0
the quest will appear on the right side of quest
window. Make sure you read the quest text so you
will
know where to go, and what to do when you get
there.
If you decide to do the quest, click the Accept
button. When you accept a quest you will see a
confirmation window.
You can view the list of all your active and
completed quests by opening the quest diary (press
Q)

Brusoto requested us to visit the Blacksmith
Brin Ironsmasher. Take note of the yellow (?)
above Brin’s head. This symbol means you
have met the requirements to complete one of your
quests. Speak to Brin by left clicking on him,
and then click on the Quest button.

Left click on the [Complete]
quest to view the final comments from the NPC.
Then click on the Complete button
to receive your reward.
Sometimes when you complete a quest it will grant
you access to a new quest. To accept this new
quest, left click on the name, read the information
supplied on the right side of the quest window,
and then click the Accept button.
Leaving the town through the northern gate and
you will encounter your first foe. Dark Spiders.
Currently you don’t have any combat skills
so you will have to rely on basic attacks to defeat
the Dark
Spiders. To attack one, double left click on it
and you will automatically fight until the foe
is defeated.
When you kill monsters there is a chance for gold,
potions, and various other items to drop. The
loot will appear on the ground near the dead body
of the monster. To pick up your loot place your
cursor over the item, the cursor will change to
the image of a hand, when that happens left click
or just press the space bar and
you will pick up the item.
Tip : Make sure you collect your
loot quickly! The loot will disappear if it stays
on the ground for too
long.
The name of items being displayed is a feature
that can be toggled on and off. If you want to
see the names of items on the ground, press the
ALT key on your keyboard. If
you no longer wish to see the names, press the
ALT key again to turn off the
names.

The five spiders are now dead, and a level has
been gained. With every level this window will
tell you
what new enhancement you gained with it.
At level 2 you can start wearing the basic armor
in the game, but before you go shopping you should
return to Brin to complete the quest and get your
reward.
4.
Merchants and Buying
Now that you have completed two
quests and killed a few monsters you have a little
bit of gold to spend. First we will visit Zion.
Zion sells potions and other basic adventuring
supplies such as arrows, bolts, and passport scrolls.
Visiting a merchant works like with the quest
NPCs. Go over to the merchant and left-click him.
Then select ?Buy/Sell? and the
following window will open.

Now that the store is open, you can get detailed
information about each item by hovering your cursor
over the item. An information window will popup
with the name of the item, the price, and what
the
item does.
To purchase an item right click on the item you
wish to buy. A confirmation window will come up.
Click OK to purchase the item,
or click Cancel if you don’t
want the item. You can also use drag and drop.

Selling an item works the same way. Just right
click on the item you wish to sell, and confirm
the sale.
To purchase weapons and armor for your character
you should visit the merchant related to your
class. For example, if you are playing a berserker
you would go to <Warrior Weapons Merchant>
Mecante.
The merchants for each class work the same as
Zion. Left click on the merchant, and then click
on the Buy/Sell button in the
conversation window.
At this point in the game you won’t have
a lot of gold, but the basic equipment is cheap.
When you
are shopping for equipment make sure you can use
the item before you buy it. Place your cursor
over
the item to check the stats and requirements of
the item.
When you purchase equipment or find it as loot,
always remember to equip it. Equipment in your
bag doesn’t help you. Press C
to bring up the character information, and press
I to bring up your inventory.
Click and drag the item you wish to equip to the
corresponding slot in the character window.

You can also double-click on an item to equip
it in the default character slot.
5.
Skill Trainers (> lvl 4)
When you reach level 4 you can gain your first
skill. To do this you must visit the trainer related
to your class (Warrior, Archer, Magic). Approach
the correct trainer for your class and click on
the NPC to bring up the conversation window. Click
on the Skill button to bring
up the training window.
At level 4 you will only have one skill to choose
from. To learn a skill you must have at least
1 skill point, the correct level, and enough gold.
Tip : Just like items, skills
also have an information popup. Place your cursor
over the skill and wait for
the information to be displayed.

When you are ready to learn a skill, left click
on it then click on the Learn
button. A confirmation window will appear just
in case you made a mistake. Click OK
to learn the skill, or click Cancel if you changed
your mind.
As you can see above, you have different classes
of skills:
· There
are Combat related skills which are good attacks.
· The Buff line includes
several skills that temporary boost you or your
attributes or weaks the enemies.
· The Class line is totally
class restricted and gives you certain skills
that only your class is able to use.
· The Passive line acts
like her name says totally passive, you have skills
that permanently
increase certain abilities like Agility, Wisdom,
Critical hit rate ...
Learning skills is very important to the development
of your character, but most skills must be
activated by you.
Press K to bring up your skill
window and then drag your new skill into the skill
bar at the bottom of the screen. To active the
skill press the key corresponding to the slot
you placed the skill in.
Example: If you place the skill on slot 6 you
would need to press 6 on your
keyboard to use the skill.
Crafting
(> lvl 7)
Crafting is useful as you can create meals that
give you several boost, for example a health or
attack boost or you can create potions to morph
you into a lot of creatures, for example Goblins,
Spiders or Wolfs.
The first crafting related skill you will gain
is the ransacking skill. At level 7 you will be
able to learn the
skill by going to an Adventurer NPC. Left click
on the NPC to bring up the conversation window.

Ransacking is the first skill
you’re able to learn. As you can see in
the description you gain the
possibility to loot monsters to gain Items you
can use for cooking and Alchemy.
To learn it just press Learn
like you did earlier at your skill trainer. There
is also a requirement to start ransacking, you
need a Gathering Knife which you can purchase
from Merchant Darryl and others.
When you have bought the skill and the knife,
you will also need to drag the Ransacking skill
into your skill bar. To do that open the Craft
skill window which can be opened with ?J?
on your keyboard. To learn the Ransacking skill
you need to be level 7 and have 300 gold.
Cooking gives us the possibility
to create meals that assist and boost our abilities,
for example a
Health boost or an enhancement to your attack
rate. To gain the cooking skills, cooking tools
and
recipes you have to visit a NPC Cook that are
located in every bigger city. Here in Anchorville
its Cook
Lucy. You can purchase the basic cooking skill
there which you will need to create all the meals
you
will learn as you progress in this skill. To learn
the cooking skill you need to be level 10 and
have 500
gold.
Alchemy is first available with
level 15 and gives you the possibility to create
Metamorphosis potions
which are able to morph you into a lot of creatures.
If you want to learn the required skills you need
to visit an Alchemist and learn the basic Alchemy
skill and buy yourself an Alchemy cauldron.
To be able to collect the needed ressources for
the potions you have to learn further Loot skills
from
the adventurer. Once you learned the skills you
will need to loot the creatures, you kill to gain
items
which are needed for the potions. To learn the
Alchemy skill you must be level 15 and have 1,000
gold.

your equipment visit any blacksmith (Brin for
example) and left click on the NPC to bring up
the

If you wish to upgrade one of your
items click on the Item Upgrade
button in the blacksmith’s conversation
window. The Item upgrade window will open. Place
the item you wish to upgrade in the top slot and
in the bottom slot you must place a reinforcement
potion. Once both items are in place, click on
the Buff basic level button.

which can be accessed by every character on your
account. Left click on Tess to bring up the conversation
window.

9.
Auction House
The Auction House is a wonderful
place where to buy items from other players all
over the
server. Left click on any Item Trader NPC to bring
up their conversation window, and then
click on the Auction House button.
All the items are organized by type
and get more specific as you expand the sections.
For example: Starting with the normal
weapon section and then expanding the One-
Handed Axe section would display all of the normal
one handed axes. You can check the
information about any item for sale by placing
your curser over the name of the item and
waiting for the information popup, just like a
normal merchant. If you are interested in an
item, and you can afford it, click on the item
and then confirm your desire to purchase the
item when the confirmation window comes up. Click
cancel if you made a mistake or
changed your mind.
10.
Beauty Artist
Merchants and skill trainers aren’t
the only useful NPCs in town. The beauty artist
Powdell
will allow you to change your character’s
appearance. Your hair and face can be changed
at any time by going to a beauty artist. Left
click on the NPC and then click on the Change
Character Appearance button.

The character customization screen
allows you to select hair and face styles that
aren’t
available to you during character creation. Some
of the styles have level requirements,
and some of them cost gold. Click on any item
in the list to see how it looks on your
character before you purchase the change. When
you have found the styles you want click

an Animal Breeder. The animal breeders offer several
mounts and weapons to pick from. Left click on

animal breeder has for sale.
Just like other items and skills, mounts have
requirements that must be met before you
can use them. Place your curser over the mount
you are interested in and wait for the
information window to popup. As you can see, the
most basic mount requires the
character to be level 35. You won’t be able
to get a mount when you first start playing,
but it’s something to look forward to.
12.
Elemental stones
Elemental stones can be used to
enhance your weapons or armor. Stones can only
be used
on weapons and armor that have slots. To use the
stone drag and drop it onto the item
you wish to enhance.

Here you can see the battle poleaxe with the
water elemental stone attached to it. This
weapon only has one slot so other stones cannot
be placed in it.

13.
Additional tips
· Quests rewards can
be very useful to your character, if you enjoy
doing quests you should keep
checking around town for new quests. Additional
quests become available as to level up and complete
quests.
· When you are hunting
you should consider joining, or forming a party.
Party members automatically
loot items, which saves time and prevents the
loss of items due to decay. Additionally when
you are in
a party you gain a bonus to your HP and MP, which
is always helpful.
· You shouldn’t
wander too far away from the starting town during
your first few levels. Monsters get
progressively harder the further away from town
you are.
· When you reach level
6 the world becomes more dangerous. You will suffer
an EXP debt when you
die and respawn in a town. Also when you reach
level 6 you will be able to attack other players,
and
other players will be able to attack you.
· Never share your account
information with other players.
· Never loan your items
to another player unless you are absolutely sure
you can trust that person to
return the item.
